anyone playing GTA:Vice City?

This game is amazing, the further you get into the game the harder it is to put it down!

i don't have it and i don't play it, because it us (IMHO) the same as GTA3 with some minor additions. correct me if i'm wrong :)

PS2. sucks, why do i even have a ps2. i don't like any of the games that come out. mainly because i suck at it. i always lose :)
i prefer nerdish pc-rpg's like neverwinter nights :D

don't get me wrong, gta vc is better then gta3 so it is a great game, only the few additions don't make it worth spending so much money on it after i've played gta3 :)

and i was just complaining about the ps2 being stupid because i was humiliated today in about a zillion different games :(

and neverwinter nights IS nerdish, as are all D&D games (come on, memorizing 1308071 stats before you can even begin to understand something is for geeks, real men just buy a sword and get slaughtered every time :grin: )

well i think there is more than just "those few additions". the game is set up much better, and the story is great.

gameplay is better, graphics are better, more guns, more cars, motercycles, buying buildings, 3x as many "job" vechicles. Great game.

i'd disagree about vice being just like gta3...on a superficial level, it seems that way...but it's so much more involving than 3 was..I couldnt stop playing it til I beat it, and I still play it now... it's absolutely fantastic.

Wee, I got it for Christmas! Great game. Only real bitches about it is the map/radar thing in the corner is way to small and low-rez for me to read, and aiming and shooting sucks ass without a mouse. It worked great with a mouse with GTA3 for PC though.

I dont think its the same thing done over at all. Granted, the engine hasnt changed much and neither has the basic gameplay style. But its a whole other city, and its huge. Serisouly. And amazingly interactive. You dont just go around stealing cars and doing jobs for mobsters.. hell you can go and enter a dirt biking competition for $$. New cars, and types of vehicles, tricks, and.. well, 80s music..

Plus the story in this one seems a bit more deep than the last..

loken: well said! I like the story 10x as much as gta3s, Vice city's story compaired to gta3 story makes it look like gta3 didn't even have a plot... and it kinda didn't... heh.

I had GTA3 for the ps2 and pc. THe trails and fx were nicely done on the ps2 but i, like roundeye think the Blurs and shit for the pc port were rediculous. You can't even see anything with them on. Luckily you can turn them off but it would be cool if they would give you a slider to adjust the amount of blurs and such when Vice is ported to pc.

Does anybody know if/when it will be coming out for PC?

Yeah the blurrs.. are annoying. I dont like them much on the Ps2 any more than I do on the PC. Other things I dont like is some of the character modelling. The faces are very well done but the bodies often seem awkward. Mostly the hands. I thought we were beyond blocks for hands? Eheh. Its annoying because they used the hands so much for expression.

Probably the funnest thing I've found so far is riding the motocycles. I seem to drive around doing stupid stunts more than I do actually playing the game.
