anyone know of a good illustration degree?

im currently enrolled into a technical school and im finding it pretty underwhelming in the areas that im interested in. im finding myself going out of school into seattle to find teachers to teach me the things i want to learn, if the school wont teach it ill find someone who will, but it would be nice to go to a dedicated school for it. im looking to get into some sort of illustration degree, anyone have any good experiences at a particular college? any recommendations for a solid illustration degree? should i just do it on my own? thanks.

Don't have personal experience with them but from what I hear, Academy of Art University in San Francisco and School of Visual Arts in New York have pretty good Illustration programs. I'm sure some of the folks around here can tell you better than I. Maybe try a search on Illustration and College or University for this forum.
