Really nice work and choice of colors. Love the reflections on the sidewalk. My only crit though is, that there is no casting shadow on the big pice of grabage next to the box. It makes it look like its floating. But otherwise awsome work.:D

This is a really beautiful picture. Is't almost fine art; it has such an emotional impact.
my comments are
-the reflections are too clean, usually when you have reflections on the ground they appear more streaked, and not so identifiable.. Also being able to reac all of the details inthe reflections take away interest from the main focus, the robot.
- I think you can hol back on the rendering as you move away from you focal point. The trash\junk in the foreground looks great, almost too great; it could almost be a seperate picture. For composition you could easily make all of that trash a sillouhette, or hold the rendering using just two values of a color.
- Still this is on the of best paintings I seen, based on artistic and technical merit.. Especially artistic merit. Thanks for swhowing this piece.

It is a great concept, reminds me of "Artificial Intelligence." Beautifully rendered, and love the richness of color.
The best part of the whole composition is the reflections on the sidewalk, but unfortunately that is also my crit for this piece. It draws away from the whole compostition. It is so bright, so full of beautiful details that my eyes are drawn to it more then the subject (robot) of your piece. Maybe you should try having more highlights spill onto the robot, like the level of the highlight you have on the garbage can. Try it and see if you like it. but otherwise it is a wonderful piece.:D

Lovely feel & composition as usual ! A few quick crits, the streetscene is a little strong and the reflections too perfect on a pavement where the water is puddled the reflection is sharp elswhere its blurred. The figure on the pavement is alittle stiff maybe someone in motion would be better.
Here's a very crude paint over

Awesome piece. I like the original version the best. The reflections are perfect, IMO. Streaked in some areas, but clear in others. That is perfectly realistic for some surfaces.
I don't like the streaks in the 2nd version, nor the added saturation on the robot. Looks too forced.
As far as the original being too distracting in some areas with neon lights, I think it's fitting. It kinda adds to the "forgotten" robot theme.

I like the original much more, because I like how the "cheery" colors on the right side contrast with the "gloomy-ness" on the left side where the abandoned robot is.
Just my thought

I think it looks awsome. Great composition and colors. Bright and nice city street colors (very nice and good moody) and the dark gloomy alley :D
Love it :D

this is a very nice image, I'll definitely have to watch your posts in the future.
You have a nice concept here. omeone else mentioned the movie AI, I'm definitely reminded of that mood and moral. I think you make your point with the expression on the android's face; the teddy bear and the grafitti "don't waste robots" are over kill.

this is a very good image, I'll definitely have to watch your posts in the future. My only crit is to think about the perspective...I think the scale of the trash can and robot doesn't fit with the street scene in the background. But that's very much my opinion based on the size of the "average" trash can, not on any real law about perspective.
You have a nice concept here. Someone else mentioned the movie AI, I'm definitely reminded of that mood and moral. I think you make your point with the expression on the android's face; the teddy bear and the grafitti "don't waste robots" are over-kill. With illustrations like this, I think it's better to use the scalpel than the wrecking ball.

I dont think the smudgyness helps out atl all, I think if you would've just lassoed the area wit the more saturated color and played with layer blends, levels, and ue and saturation.. you could've excuted more nicely

im torn... the first one is more stylized. the contrast between happy and sad, while the second is more realistic. over all, i would go with the second... but regardless, if you could make it raining, that, would be amazing, especially if you showed it hitting the pavement... that would finish this up amazingly, and by going the extra mile, i think it would add lots! (it may even realistically tone down the first versions colors realistically) i agree tho... very blade runner, and thats a good thing
