A beautiful image.
But in my opinion there's something not totally right about the beak; it looks like it's melting and starting to run downward. A bit too thick at the top, and with a bit too "wrinkly" edges perhaps?
Also, maybe since the light-source(the setting/rising sun)is in the background, the beak wouldn't be lit up like that?
I'm still working on my own understanding of lighting/shadow, so I'm not the one to talk perhaps...
Overall a nice piece, but maybe take these things into consideration. :)
I have now taken a look at some images of flamingos, and they do have a pretty strange beak, not too far off what you've done here. Still, maybe make it a bit longer, and a bit thinner, and with "sharper" edges. :)

I agree..
The beak is strange looking. it was the first thing that I noticed. Also the eye is a little too "harsh" looking i think. Just my opinion!! good luck:)
Peace.

This is one From Back in October...
Since I like Fire,,, and the Maya culture.....
Here is the Maya Fire God..... Huehueteotl
He is one of the oldest deities of Ancient America, his ceremonies were particularly important at the conclusion of each fifty-two day cycle of time, when old fires were quenched and new ones lighted to keep time moving.

great use of color, but one thing i did notice, is the perspective... if you look at the coast, or the side of the lake, its much too close, the flamingo looks as if he is 50 ft tall. i hope i was of some help~ keep it up, good stuff:D
