hi there

i just scanned a bunch of recently done sketches. some of them were made in my sketchbook, some others i did on loose printer paper.

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/12-21_demons.png
some different demon thumbnails. they all are about 1 inch high; blue ballpoint pen

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/12-21_2head.png
a two-headed demon idea that popped to my mind; black ballpoint pen

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/12-21_creature.png
creature design; black ballpoint pen

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/12-21_dwarf.png
a dwarven warrior, about 2 inches high; blue ballpoint pen

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/12-21_heads.png
some different heads. i found that my new sketchbook has way too coarse paper to draw on it with a b pencil so i switched to my 3h for sketching. slowly acclimating to it...

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/12-21_barbarian.png
barbarian sketch. again, 3h mechanical pencil and 2b wooden pencil for some softer marks and heavier darks.

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/12-21_necromancer.png
a necromancer with some undead he just summoned; blue ballpoint pen

crits highly appreciated

thanks

Love the barbarian and the necromancer. I have a this thing for sketches fone in ball point pen. I guess it's the spontaniety of it. good stuff!

mitch: thanks :) :chug:
i love ballpoint pen, too. it's lots of fun sketching around with these things. i wonder why everyone regards them as "dead line" tools...

sin: thank you a lot :)
i had to ask davi what exactly you meant with your comment, though :D (i'm german and completely insensitive to the subtleties of english language :P)

glad you like them!

i finally managed to pick up a brush pen. they're damn hard to get here...
i hadn't so much fun since long time, though :)

these are mostly small graffitties in my sketchbook and no full sketches, though. (hey, i'm just beginning and get warmed up with that toy!)

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/01-04_rider-graffitti.png
small thumbs (barely 1 inch per figure) about diabolic-looking mounts and riders

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/01-04_mecha-graffitti.png
one more doodle, this time with a mecha tank.

http://www.polycount.com/cottages/gekitsu/pimp/01-04_portraits.png
to the left, one more unshaved face with sunglasses and to the right is a portrait of saddam. (no offense meant. initially, i was doodling faces, my father came round and said: if you paint this guy a monster mullet, it'll look like saddam. i didn't believe and tried it. [:)])

and a small hommage to the incredible coro.
he told me he sometimes uses the combination of pilot hi tech-c pens and his brush pen and i wanted to try how well these two tools work in one picture.

c&c as always, highly appreciated.

sweet sweet stuff man. Why doesn't it look this good when I use a ballpoint pen? Bah! Anyway, beautiful work. I love the brush pens stuff. :)

clown: thank you :) i had most of my drawing practise during boring school lessons, so i learned three things particularly:
-drawing with things that aren't top-notch drawing materials (although i consider a ballpoint pen one of my favorite drawing tools nowadays)
-drawing fast
-drawing small

jens: the influences were as follows:
left one: large lizards, the one eva in evangelion that becomes an angel. (the way it crawls)
middle one: hyena
right one: horse

middle and right one being stretched in height, basically like the horse salvador sali once painted.

glad you like my stuff :)

davi, thank you a lot. i usually have a lot of fun doing lots of these small things... just playing around, no fleshing out of too much etail and if the approach is shit then ist is barely a square inch of space wasted :)

iwasink: it's a "pentel color brush" in black.
i guess you can find one in a good and well-sorted art materials shop.
they aren't even expensive and you can refill them.
