JEZZARTS
June 15th, 2004, 04:03 PM
Hello all! This is my first post... I have to say, it was / is a real pleasure to stumble across this site about a week ago. There are so many talented inspiring artists here to learn from.
With enough hard work, I may some day be able to do this for a living. I am going to go to University but am unsure on which would be more benificial, a fine art degree or an animation degree (which covers concept art). If anybody has had a similar experience or could give me some advice, I'd appreciate it.
Anyway, here's a few recent concepts for 'The Dagger' project i'm working on, an unpaid collaborative trailer...hopefully to be film.

the knife is my favorite even if it does look impractical. Decor weapons are sweet.

Definently some good work, the dagger stands out the most to me.. Glad to know you've now been devirginized to the CA.org forums, please continue to post.

Thanks for your positive coments..I agree the knife is impractical. It's actualy drawn from a design that was not mine. The dagger (in the film) is never ment for use. My ideas were not chosen for the final concept but here they are anyway... they are only sketches... but what the hey : P

I'm expecting great things from you when you come out of Uni! You're already at a very high level my friend. As for which course you should take, it all depends on what you like to do and where you want to be. So far, solid. I'm always in awe at technical / robotic subject drawings.
Oh almost forgot.. welcome !

For the most part degrees dont mean shit. Do what you love most because that is most likely what you will get a job doing. This shit is awesome. The fact you are already working on a project and the quality of your work makes me believe you will have no trouble finding a job. You know this already but be relentless about your work.

Hey guys, im new to the forums, I'm not an artist (wish i was), but im a big fan of the art industry, anyways, great stuff.
Also, just as a side note, you had said the knives wouldnt be practical, but actually they are, the arc on the handle matched with the arc of the blade would make it deadly, especially if u knew how to use it :D :chug:
Great Stuff.
