self portrait-very early

hey there

i just started this today and i'm pretty happy with how its going so far,obviously you cant comment on if it looks like me but i'd like some general comments on my progression.

i had some trouble getting the eyes the same size and i'm not quite happy as they are now

not a bad start, some comments though;

Well his left eye is smaller offcoarse, his nose looks good, but her lips need work, take a look at some references, his ears need to be slightly lowered, his "adamsapple" needs to be lower and his forehead is gonna be huge this way. Keep working on it and show us again.

the eyes are to close together maybe cuz that ones bigger but it should be the length of his eye that seperates the 2 eyes

You usually don`t see the entire eyepupil (sp?), he looks a bit panicky now.
Also, try shadows more, they will add depth and realism to the portrait.
