I'm currently going to a terrible "art" school. Since the financial commitment is already there, I can't transfer. About 90% of the classes taken at my college don't transfer anyway.

Instead of moping I've decided to take classes at other colleges or independent places outside of school.

Does anyone know of any schools in chicago that teach any of the following (or similar)?

1. Digital Painting (Photoshop stuff)
2. character design
3. Cartooning
4. Anything with Illustration??

help...

Rabbit, I was in the same boat as you a year ago. I spent two years at an art school in chicago (if it starts with a S, and ends in AIC then I fell your pain). I dont know how many years you have spent there but if you can transfer, it would be worth it. I was told that I couldnt transfer credit either, but when I got to school, I ended up transfering 42 credits. The same goes for my girlfriend. She transfered to Columbia College in Chicago and she loves it. She didnt lose any time in school so she will be out in 4 years total. If you cant leave Chicago I would suggest looking into Columbia. Im pretty sure that they have everything that you are looking for. They are also relativly cheap as far as art schools go.

Good luck in whatever you do.

:) so many people complain about AIC schools. The school I'm currently at is somewhat the same.

I went to Columbia back when I was 18 (for film), but transferring won't be a good idea since I only have a year left. :(

guess I have to keep looking for somewhere to teach me on the side.
