interesting to see the dawn of what promises to be a great sketchbook. now for some crits:

knight guard: interesting linework, seems very spontanious (for lack of a better word) yet very clean as well... might this be a inked version of a pencil sketch? the head&shoulders part has good contrast, which i'm missing in the rest of the drawing. also maybe a funky fold in the cape on the viewers left shoulder. cool ornaments tho :)

necroalien: very cool design! would love to see this one finished, the folds of the cape would make a nice challenge to paint.

cowboy: sweet ass pose and paintstyle.. but you gotta change that background ;)
oh and where's his eye?

head studies: lovely, you sure got skills. they turn out a bot on the dark side, but that's prolly just my monitor.

Thanks for the crits and compliments Hyver.

The Knight guard was done in painter, I just used a small airbrush for the outline. I see what u mean about the funky cape on the left side, not sure what happened there. I have a really bad attention span so my drawings always have more detail where I started first. Which is why there's strong contrast near the head and shoulders but nowhere else.

The cowboys BG isn't finished, fact I haven't worked on it at all. The eyes were supposed to be in shadow, but there probably isn't enough contrast.

So here's something I did today. Two versions, one with highlights, one without. Not sure which one I like better.

Yeah man, these are looking good. Especially blue face fella. That picture wouldn't look out of place as the cover of some trashy 1960s crime novel. That's meant to be a compliment btw.

hey, nice stuff in here. I like the first two, somewhat cartoony drawings of the knight guard and necroalien. I'd like to see more of that. also, a bunch of us have short attention spans, but it would be cool if you could work past that and really put some time into a piece. Not necessarily now, but I'm sure it'll come in handy down the road. I think cowboy guy from the first post is my favorite. peas.
