Topic: Zombie Repellant
Deadline: Sunday, April 29
Zombies are a fact of life at this point. The average walking dead is merely a nuisance, however the odd one can retain a bit of spunk. To keep safety in hand, carry zombie repellant! Snappily packaged and easy to use, this substance will give you peace of mind.
Your task is to envision a form for this repellant (be it pellets, liquid, projectiles or other) keeping in mind that this is an item meant to be carried about all day in a purse or back pocket. Once you have decided this, you need to design the repellant dispenser- keeping the "snappy" packaging in mind. Whether this refers the design of the repellant dispenser or creative labelling is up to you.
1. Design and draw Zombie Repellant.

:), sorry pixie, I had to do it.
I think I'll do this one. Although I'm thinking that rather than a repellent, I'll do one that sprays imitation brain matter on any flat surface. This will attract them to whatever surface you spray it on. This will let you get away, while they feed on the fake brains instead of your juicy, juicy ones.

Man, it's too bad nobody is doing this one. I've had quite a bit of fun with it. Here is my pretty much final. I'll away from my computer all this weekend, so I won't have time to do much more. Any critique is very welcome....if anyone is even in this weeks forum.

I'm in it w/ ya! lol :) Great idea, lookin really nice!
Just pulled an all nighter on this, did it all in PS with the lasso tool etc. I watched a lot of the videos over at ctrl+paint.com (awesome site), and that really helped get me thinking about surfaces and stuff, all and all its been an awesome day.. I think I may have even leveled up! lol :anime:

@ Snailspace Yeah a compadre! Glad you had fun doing this one, I love those "level up" moments. I definitely know what you're talking about. I think the design is awesome and it looks hardcore. I have a few critiques on your rendering if you don't mind. Always think about where you're light source is and how it affects other parts of your thing. With the direction of your light, you'd have a lot more highlights on the handle portion of the gun. This will also help move your eye around much better. If you want the focus on the front (nozzle and canister portion) which it looks like you were doing, you'd be much better served keeping the back in correct lighting, but just adding a little less detail than the front. I did a 5 min paintover to show you what I mean.

Here is my wip: I'm done for it for the moment. I'll try to pick it up tonight and create more details and make it more lively. It's cold and boring atm!
@ Themonet: It feels ergonomically correct and believable! And I think it's a good choice that you made it that bright color. Which is helpful when the thing is hidden in a bag.
@ SnailsPace: Great rendering, watching video's has worked ;) A few things that still bothers me a bit; the perspective of the green decals is a bit off. It should be more horizontal. And the part in the middle of the top-part and also the area beneath the fingers could use more sharper edges to get rid of the blurry effect. Great overall design!
