Ho kay, I'm looking at this as a way to help learn, strengthen and improve. Critiques are most wlecome. Going to keep up with the one SP a day to keep in the spirit of the original thread and see where it takes me. here is the first offering:

There were about a thousand excuses I came up with why this one wasn't working for me. My contacts were bugging me or my hand kept falling asleep or it was too hot in my space, but what it comes down to is sometimes you are dead on and others you are not. Have to make the dead on ones happen more frequently.

sick as a dog cause the weather will not make up it's bloody mind, but I am happy with today's results. learning even more as the days progress. beginning to see facial contours in reference to shading and other parts are coming much easier now.

still sick...apparently I felt like doing my impression of Lionface/Lemonface.

i like the may 24 one

but i wonder why you don't post these in the may portrait thread instead, you would get more comments and you could help other people out as well

Jens- First off, I've seen your SP's and I really enjoy what you have been doing with them. As far as posting these in the May SP thread, I know I'd get more comments and crits, which is what I'd like to see, because I do want to improve my stuff. On the other hand I want to keep these grouped together on their own so everyone can see the progression from the first to the most recent.

cool, it's your choice :)

about the last one, i like the way you're shading, following the structure of your head. Don't be afraid to push the darks, seem like your missing some cast shadows that could give it more depth.

Great job on the nose and lips

The ear is placed to far back because you made the jaw too long

that's about it, keep it up and thx for liking my stuff :chug:

Thanks for the crit! I'll keep the shadows in mind as well as the jaw proportion when I do tonights!:chug:
