hello,
Well.. these are kind of old now.. but.. in any case.. these were some.. studies/doodles of animals.. medium for these was black prismacolour.. on tracing paper. Reference was used.

hmm thanks for the reply I think I know what you mean..
though I think having them "loose" might not suit the purpose of these drawings (which I forgot to mention)
I was trying to take down the information.. to be used for something else, rather than the action or movement/gesture of the animals really... so I was trying to draw in as much information as I could.

Your style is very much like mine, how old are you? I love them drawings by the way, esp the monkeys hair.

Did you copy or trace? I'm asking because you said "tracing paper" (and why shhould you use some if not for tracing?) and some of your drawings look very exact and "perfect" without any guidelines. I'm just asking because I'm a fan of such animal studies myself, regularly use reference material but refrain from tracing.

jester> copy I would say, not trace. I just used tracing paper to draw on, because I sort of like the texture of the paper.. it's very easy to shade on tracing paper.. the only problem I find is that when you use graphite on it, it's very easy to smudge, hence the use of black prismacolor pencil crayon.
