Carnival Ride (In Progress) C&C please!

This is only my second project in Maya, so be gentle with me. It was done for a class, and our prof is going to put all of the rides together to make a carnival.

I brightened the image quite a bit in Photoshop, so that it would be easier to see. It isn't quite this washed out when viewed in Maya.

Let me know what you see that needs to be changed, as I'm sure there is quite a bit. ;)

just a couple quick suggestions,
in 2 and 4 I would give the edges of the rides some depth (are they nurbs or polys?)

I really like the light interaction with the seat material,
and the overall use of light is very carnival like :)

maybe make the fence have a bit more spec and break it up a bit, but overall very nice effect
