I like the second one better, because it is just overall better in alot of ways. The wrinkles, pose, and eyes look better.

But maybe that's just me

I think that one of the biggest problems with people who are starting out drawing anime is that they really dont't know what they are drawing, they only draw what they see on tv or comics or w/e (a line where they see a line, a curve where they see a curve). They don't take the time to learn the dynamics of their subject.

That having been said, it's hard for me to choose a favorite because I think they both need a great deal of improvement. If you really like drawing and want to continue, I suggest you start learning and comitting to memory before you draw things like this, for which you have no reference.

G'Luck :)

same with me...i drew alot of DBZ and Pokemon(don't make fun of me)in elementary.dude..anime and manga is cool and stylish and all, but then i realized i drew like shit. then i started to draw from what i saw after i talked with my art teachers. dude....drawing anime all the time won't get you shit. draw from life(what you see) that is the key to improvement to your drawing skills. good luck

Ok man the second one looks better. The first one doesn't look good with 2 swords. It's just my opinion but I'd rather a character use one weapon and use it well instead of having 2. But the others replies are right as well you need to quit drawing all in anime style. It's ok every once in a while but It's really crap for character design it's too simplistic.
