Trying to install Painter 7 into new computer with XP. It seems to install okay, but when I start the program it tells me the program has either been illegally altered or damaged. Install Painter again from the original CD.
Is Painter 7 compatible with Windows XP. Customer Service at Procreate wants me to pay $2. per minute to have the question answered.

I'm running Painter 7.0 (original ver.) on winxp with no probs what so ever... Dunno whats causing the problems you are facing, but I don't think it's a compability issue...
Hope you get it worked out somehow :)

Hi Peter,
Thanks,
Jinny Brown pointed me in the right direction and here's what happened.
Customer service at Corel put me in touch with their tech support guy.
He knew this to be a common problem. He sent me a file to put in over an existing file and now I'm up and running just fine.
I cannot attach the file to this post, but in case anyone else has this problem, here's the Corel Tech Support email
Gregory.Shore@corel.com
Regards,
Bob
