I think they usually send out the award money to cover the next academic year's expenses. It seems to take them a few months to announce the decisions and norrmally scholarships are awarded in time to pay for thenext academic year, beginning each fall. That would be 2004/2005.
Above, they said the awards would be for "Spring term." That's weird.
Probably would be a good idea for anyone interested, to use the email invitation and ask for clarification.
Might be nice to pass this info on thrugh other forums. I don't think this competition is listed on scholarship websites other than ARC.
Its a bit like the THE JOHN F. AND ANNA LEE STACEY SCHOLARSHIP which has nothing to do with cowboy art but rther art in the western European tradition - that one is run by The National Cowboy Hall of Fame: http://www.cowboyhalloffame.org/m_stac.html
Other scholarships for realism are the Leslie & Frances Posey and the Greenshields Award which is out of Canada and the grant amount was recently raised.
