Blue hair dye

I'm trying to get this illustration to work.

Basically my entire portfolio is all lifework/studies and most of my refined finished imagination drawing is too old and crappy to put in.
So I want at least a couple of illustrations in my 'folio so I'm not always dragging out pads of naked people anytime someone asks to see my art.

I'm experimenting a bit with style... er... trying to. Alot of what I did before converting entirely to life-drawing/painting was copying of out Fathom comics... and prior to that anime.


I'm trying to convey an experience of dyeing hair... nothing too deep. I got my hair dyed last Easter.
This is somewhat of a semi-final... at least as far as I've gotten with it.
I experimented a bit with the positioning of the characters, but I didn't really like any of them before this one as the girl was always portrayed sorta pin-up style sitting on a couch and running her hands through the male character's hair.... it wasn't what I wanted to convey ;)

So, I'm trying to make this better essentially. I will re-draw it if anyone has any bright ideas. I'm working through this on a pad of bond paper so I can re-trace any of the good parts so it shouldn't be too much trouble.
