I posted this in its finally finished too, but since she is a kick ass life painter, I decided to start this here too, and I will be posting more of her work here when I shoot it ...thanks for peepin. And email her if you are inspired by her work, or just to give a quick artist greet...

Ok, so I am biased, but I mean it. This is my wife's work, just a couple pieces. I plan on shooting her pad and posting those soon. She is amazing, only getting better everyday.

These two paintings were gifts to me. The one of us is in acrylic, the one of our cat and I is in oil, and done in just a few hours.

She is amazing. Here is her website, www.vanessalemenart.com check it out too and post up any feedback, she doesnt have time to write a lot, but some feedback would definitely get her inspired to start posting herself more...heh

Thanks for looking,

ROn

She will also be attending the workshop in Austin, she teaches at the Watts atelier, so bug her about art, she has a lot of answers too...heh

I don't have much time to discuss in detail, but the paintings and drawings from life are excellent. I liked seeing some of the same models I remember from Ron's posts, quick look suggests they're just as good.

Is everything on the website recent? The paintings of clowns and fairies don't seem to be on the same level as life painting and plein air landscapes.

Love that cat picture, gorgeous! The pic of the two of you is a lot of fun, I assume you're not the one in the blue dress. If you are, blue is definitely your color :D

Deth Jester is right, the site is painfully slow to load. Part of it is that she seems to not be resizing all her images in say photoshop to the size she wants to show and instead is doing it on the page in html.

Nice stuff though and look forward to meeting you both in Austin!

Wow. Very nice work Vanessa.

Must be interesting to have a relationship with two artists, eheh. Can you even give unbiased constructive criticism to each other anymore? :p J/k

Hope to see you post more. :)

okay, so I'm here now... woohoo!
first off.. to anyone who tried the website link.. sorry about the lag time! wow. lame. I went there too and didn't wanna wait around myself, so..
to those who went and waited. Thank you! Also, since I'm new here, I don't know everyone of course, so I need to get acquainted with all the names and the work. In time. I look forward to checking all this out. I love this place. It's so motivating. so much awesome work.. and then Ron posts me here.. and I'm thinking oh man, I don't know (nervous, lack of confidence, yada yada yada), but here I am, so here goes...
...so, to answer, quickly:

first - Ron(fred) - You rock! I feel the love. Thank you, infinity times. Your inspiration, encouragement, motivation, support, wealth of knowledge and tough love.. is awesome. I think I speak for everyone here when I say...your willingness to share with everyone is so incredible and so appreciated. It's one of those things that feels like saying thank doesn't seem like enough. ..but thank you.

bwkeough - thanks for waiting for the s l o w site. yep, some stuff on the site is older and I definitely need to weed it out. I totally appreciate your comments on that. Sometimes I'm torn between emotional quality, technical proficiency and skill, what I enjoy, and feedback from others (among many other things). Lately, i've started to notice that it's all sort of coming together and the new stuff I think shows that a bit. Thanks for the interest in the paintings and drawings from life.

Deth Jester and BNicolucci - thanks too for your patience in viewing my site or at least trying. sorry about that. It was definitely due to mass hits. I checked the stats. but yes, also some images are not sized down small enough.. need to weed out and/or start over with my site for sure. I totally appreciate your input and I hope you enjoy the new posts.

pandawhipped - Hey! yeah, I'm here! woohoo! see you tonight in class too. glad you like the work. your work's looking so great - better and better each week. I love seeing the progress. oh.. sorry if you get nightmares.

Bojee - thanks for checkin it out. I hope to post more soon too. check back. thanks for the nice words..

Jeff Jaws - thanks, too!

loken - I suppose that's why we're here! ha ha! no, really, we're pretty good about constructive criticism. It's the teacher in both of us, and the fact that we're always willing to learn more too. It's a give and take thing. Anyway, thanks for the compliment as well. I hope to post more too.

Hi you got some great pieces, especially like the digital dolls you made hope to see you post more.

Anyway I see you paint in acrylics, so do I (a little) but hm not so good  so I was wondering if you could give me some advices/tutorial with acrylics :hh: (if you get the time) especially using opaque technique with the paint already mixed, since I almost always tends to use transparent techniques like using i think itīs called "dry brushes" etc to build up/mix colours on the canvas/paper So please help me get out of this I have only done one with opaque technique that I like. Any help at all is very much appreciated.
