Wicked! My favorite of yours. Those ghost like creatures are awesome. Reminds me of the little crazy dudes from Princess Monoke.

Hey Sparth,

As always, I really dig your color palette. Love the complimentry colors...the oranges and purples. It has a very warm vibe about it. Atmosphere.

I looks like fun to create.

Uuuuh...these mummies are sooo cute! Finally Marshmallow-Man has got some offspring...

This piece has got a little touch of Tim Burton's Style...

The magicians anatomy disturbs me a little...i don't know, maybe the shoulder parts?...

Hey Sparth, love the lighting! I too would be interested to know how you acheive the grainy watercolour look in the background. Is it just a noise filter or something more...?

Awesome. These little mummies remind me of these little japanese ghosts. I think they are called 'Kodama'. I really like these colorful circles and lines you do in your paitnigs. great stuff! :D

Sketch: ty. i was influenced by these tiny mononoke beings when i did this one. i love these simple primary faces, consisting of two round eyes, and a little nose. so much expression to show on a tiny face.
ChadTHX1138: hehe well, i'm honored even more then. :>
bomba: tx m8
tarwater: hehe i try not to. ty
zeitgeist: for a second i had an hesitation concerning the face. i felt i just had to remove everything except the white horn things. but it was a bit too abstract! :>
iwasink: make multiple layers, blend them as much as you can, find that little color mix thing that you'll find the best, and work the rest of your image with that combination you've just found. tada!!! :s
Fozzybar: yea that thing was done in about two hours. i could make another pass. :s
Grooveholmes: can't wait for that game to come out.
MindCandyMan: i'll make one :s - when my kid will let me alone two hours in a row without bugging me on the puter :)
Loga4: ty! :>
nick reynolds: "The piece feels very french to me, I can't put my finger on it though" me neither! but i'll take is as a compliment :>:>:>
Android:thanx and, trying to do my best in that litle remaining time i have.
keenerbean: i sometimes use noise, but i always blend it with a bunch of other techniques. i also use simple custom textures too.
taff: japanese ghosts inspired that's sure. kodamas, hmm i've learnt something today. :> tx
bizarde: ty!

thanx to all of you peeps.

great color. the little mummies and the light in the back really bring out the depth of this image. i love the magician's pose, it almost look like he's dancing. but his right hand bothers me. the light on his right hand makes it flat and takes it away from the rest of the picture. once again, the color is amazing, but towards the bottom of the picture, you start to loose the details, which confuses me. is the magician standing over a great pot of boiling substance or is he standing on chunks of cloud?

hello my friend,
I'm not sure if I told you already how great is this image. I just adore it :D even though I think your robot series were the real Sparth thing to me. As I know you a little, I understand the artistic intentions behind these robots. I find them so much more personnal than the piece you are showin' us here. But don't misunderstand me: I DO think your magician definitely rulez !! :chug:

I agree with Living Rope - I thought all the funky robots were the real Sparth as well, but these ghosts look so appealling and the colours rock! Great pose on the magic user, too, only bringing out his right hand so it doesn't overlap his coat might make it that little bit better. Adore your stuff, man!
