Oh maaaan, a friend of mine got me started on this this morning.

That was the slooowest 0.4 seconds i've ever seen. Here's the deal, they look at the replay to see whether the shot was good or not. A red light comes on behind the backboard when the clock expires and they base the decision on whether the ball is out of the shooters hand when the light comes on. A freeze frame showed it WAS out of his hand when the light was on. The problem with that is that the referees have to push a button on their belt or whatever to start the clock when the ball is inbounded. Anybody watching the game saw Fisher catch, then turn and shoot which seems highly improbably in 0.4 seconds, when really all you could do is tip the basketball. So that makes me think the ref pushed his button a split second too late. But it was close, and they called it good, so oh well.

Phew. I'm done.

You're right. Nothing can be done about it. And either way, it was really too close of a call, could've gone both ways, just wanted to get my rant in :p
Regardless, Lakes are up 3-2. And damn, ticket prices for staples are crazy!

I'm not a spurs fan, although I do like TD and man, his shot was so clutch, I felt bad that it didn't mean anything in the end. And as for my team, well let's just say that if I say it, i'll be showered with hate from lakes fans, hehe. That should be enough of a hint.

groover macnab, the timer is not started when the player inbounds, but when the player first touches the inbound pass.....

right. the point still applies that the ref could've pushed the button late. but again, it doesn't really matter. it was too close of a call to take the bucket away.

Well the lakers are through, but if there is any complaint with fishers shot the clock should have been atleast 0.7 as they let it run a bit after duncans basket.
