Looks good so far, the loading time is fast too. I'm not sure about the red though it looks good and striking, looking at it too long might be hard on the eyes.

Hi cartoonfox, :)
It's got potential. Loads fast which is always a bonus, and the pixelfonts are nice and clean. It's going to be a nice shell for your work.

Few points though (IMHO):

1. The menu seems a little out of composition in that bottom left corner and there's too much leading for the nav to look like a cohesive whole.

2. For me, the navigation doesn't stand out enough for the viewer to be able to differentiate it from the rest of the content. Maybe try a bold version of that bitmap font?

3. I think the site name and 'Art by' tagline need to be brought out more. I'd personally pick out a non-pixel font that you like and make it larger than the other type.

4. Maybe bring in another darker colour somewhere to create some contrast on the page. Possibly the site name and tagline

Hope that helps! Good work.

Might be worth at the beginning to work out the design and functionality on paper, with a few printouts of possible typefaces etc to guide you. Saves time in the long run and easier to see what compositions might work well quickly. I'm guessing you jumped straight into Flash MX?

hmmm so you think the menu is in the wrong place? sorry, i'm not sure what you meen. but i agree about making cartoonfox and art by more bold, i'll have a mess around and see what i can come up with.
and another colour is also a good idea. again i'll have a mew around tommorrow to see what i get ^-^

yeah i just jumped sraight in with flash. i find it easier to change things around in flash than on paper, with flash you can see there and then what it looks like. on paper you have to sort of guess what it'll look like. but i'm just wierd ^-^

I love the way the site opens after pressing the image, just a pimp idea. Loading times were speedy as hell, menu and content now more distinguishable... looks sweet my man. Now we need some content. :D

The site's looking good so far. I used to be a webdesigner, (still am once in a while) and I like it when people don't go overboard with flash. Nice and simple works really well, especially since it's your work that's supposed to stand out. Can't wait to see it finished.

its ok, kinda like a vector version of paint chat, except you have no idiots erasing the canvas and drawing stupid manga stuff ^-^
anyway, try it out and lemme know what you think. it is hard to get used to it, but once you practice for a bit, its ok. just remember to draw slow ^-^

CartoonFox, that looks awesome!

I love the fast loading times, the graphix and the overall design. the canvas thing is a cool/funny idea. Sometime later on in the future(2yrs.) I would want a website made.

Just wondering how much would you charge for something like this?

yeah i tested the drawing canvas on my mums laptop, and it was real fast, i could do nice (alost) perfect circles. so it's just my crappy computer where its slow ^-^
