May 10th, 2004, 11:02 PM
oh that's freakin sweet! i have a feeling though that it'd be more like the raptor hunting us which could definately take only 15 mins. and if that's the case, the trailer should do the old switcheroo and have the raptor in the brush behind the hunter. then fade back from the titles and have the raptor with a lobster bib (except it's got a little guy on it) daintily eating with a small fork? such funn

Hey guys,

Glad to hear some of you are making it down for the workshop! Pretty excited to meet everyone. When they (Jason & Andrew) ask me to come down and do some workshops on storyboarding I was a little skeptical, I mean who’s gonna be interested in storyboarding. But then I thought about it, sure we work behind the scenes and we don’t get the fame the other artists get. But storyboard guys get the chicks. I forgot how sexy storyboarding is. I guess I have become jaded. Oh well.

Thanks for generous compliments gents

Peace
Dan

Dan, Story boarding is awesome dude...tedious but it is most definately fun when a piece of film is shot exactly from the images, it's like watchin all the panels coming to life as intended...

WHen i saw the Matrix, and then saw Steve Skroces storyboards i was like holy shit, every scene was almost straight from Steve's boards...

i personally wanna learn how to interpret a piece of script properly into storyboards... i don't know about the rest of you guys.. :D

ooh raptors, pity the real ones were only three and a bit feet high, classic three prong attack I see, but who cares with boards like these, did you do boards for ginger snaps two or three?

I can't afford the trip to Austin, so I hope ya have a good time.

Brilliant!

I was genuinely 'into it'. Have fun at the Austin workshop. It's a *little* too far (and thus expensive) for me to attend, but if I were a millionaire I'd SO be there.

Thanks for showing, Dan!

whoa dan! i'm totaly stunned!

your drawing is very very good, but how you add so much mood to it with your colors is just... well i can realy "feel" the movie this could be!
do you do your professional work in color, too? it depends on what a client wants i guess, but i've rarely seen any color storyboards for movies.

when you've some free time, could you post some steps to show how you set up your shots and approach the whole thing?

thanks for posting!

400 + planefare and no job. Sounds fun, but I can't handle that much. Guess thats what happens when you get that many great guests for a relativey small audience. Maybe next Thunderdome could have workshop scholorships as a prize or something.
