I tend to just scribble down thumbs all over my pad without any real method and sometimes end up with a couple of sketches which are quite similar looking and generally often end up a bit disgruntled.

I never used to thumbnail anything, so the fact that i'm managing to reliably do any is a near-miracle, but I was wondering if any of you chaps have any good tips or methodologies I could take note of?

Any help, examples or links appreciated :)

cheers!!

That's a pretty broad question. What are you trying to accomplish with the thumbs? Gesture/pose... or maybe develop a character design?

I suspect there might not really be an answer to your question, because all thumbnails need to do is get quick info down for you to use... they don't have to look good or anything.
