I tried it out. Even though I put in more detail than he did in his, I found it very helpful. I'll keep practicing this exercise to get the basic color schemes of things and I'll post them here.. Thanks Hudnut.
p.s one question. What brushes did you use to make those Hudnut? Anybody else know? Im a painter newb.:( that's what I ask:)

I love tha colouring...I hope I get into painter half as well as you have.
The blue image is cool, reminds me of Dragonball Z, just as a fireball is thrown.

i really like the detail on the statuette head ... how do you get painter 7 to layer oils in a convincing way...
Im finding it really hard to get used to the opacity method of shading on a PC, creating custom brushes also seems a little complicated as i keep screwing them up... good work though kudos for posting them, i think ill give the thumbnail metho a go too!

I'm not that great at it yet, but I do everything in one layer using mainly the camelhair brush, and watercolor brush to lay down basic tones down. I wish I knew how to merge layers, but i don't. I guess its okay. No custom brushes, I just use whats on there. Really low opacity, and some scribbling at the begining, then I blend them together with the water brush. I set it to just add water and im set. I go back and forth until im finished. check this out (http://eden.dreamcrafter.com/tut02.htm)
I hope I helped you out. Post here or email me and I'll help you out all you need.
