Soldiers Playing Dice

This is a sketch that I intend to turn into a finished picture. please telle me where I need to improve and what's good and bad about the pic. The one thing that I'm struggling with most is how to realistically make it look like the central figure is leaning over with his hands on his knees. I should probably also introduce more variation in facial features and expression, but that shouldn't be hard to do when I start putting all the details. maybe make the dice more visible too.

maybe if you make his knees further apart and use more foreshortening as well as shading the lower legs a little bit darker.... i cant really explain it much without showing you but my scanners just gone to hardware heaven(might be a good concept in that!!) ... damn microsoft!!

thanks for the advice. after I scanned it, I tried imitating the figure's intended pose in front of a mirror, which helped too. just on a general note, how do the overall bodily proportions of the figures look? I have a history of getting proportions wrong but I think I'm starting to come out of it.
