Here is my painting I am working on, one from my original sketch---Any clues on how to make the detail= I keep working but nothing wants to pop out at me- any techniques on getting sharp detail- Thanks Bradhttp://cnmb.virtualave.net/helpme.jpg

Hey, texturez, your painting looks great!

Details? You must think every small part of a whole single artpiece...for example take the breast. Zoom it so it fits to your screen. Now you have only the breast you can see. THIS is now your artwork! Forget the rest...finish this as if there is nothing else. You inevitably will concentrate on details, you never thought of before...if you do this with every part, you'll get the details automatically...

...wow, looked at it again...looks like copper combined with organics...

well the second pic almost looks like chalk to me at first i thought marker with colored pencils , not sure though but i think rembrandt pastels could give you a very close look if not
