i have a large amount of reference photos that i have collected over the years on my computer. I've been using folders to organize them but i was wondering if there was any spiffy software that i could use instead.

i want to be able to put them into albums/categories and i would love to be able to tag them.

i've tried iPhoto but its more-so for photography from digital cameras and it won't except grey-scaled images.

How do you guys organize your reference photos? and/or do you know of any good software for macs that would be perfect for this purpose?

you can try picasa, they have photo tagging and albums.

I use Adobe Bridge. It might not be the best software out but it helps me keep things in order. Adding Tags to photos or using or labeling them then using the Smart Collection to make them one things one click away.
