This is a little drawing that I started a couple of nights ago. I am try to make Tom Welling as Superman for the people who watch Smallville. Lots of work ledt to do.

omg. i don't just want to post "great!" but the face is just so well rendered! a couple of nights?! i really couldn't do that on a computer.
1.did you scan in something first?
2. just a thing: did you use a reference for tom welling? i think his face is somewhat longer/ thinner... i could be wrong.
3. you have anatomy down, but where does the suit end on the neck? it is a suit right? b/c of the wrinkles in the armpit, it looks like the spandex suit?

I actually spent about 5 hours on the face. This is the face at 3 hours along. I have done a lot to it sence this post. Tom Welling is actually very hard to draw. I was suprised.

I used my wacom and photoshop to draw it. I didn't scan anything in.

I havn't done much to the neck yet cause I am not sure how I want to approach the cape. I tryed somethings and its just looks dorky on him.

Anyway, thanks for the crits and comps. Im going to see how much further I can push it this weekend.

have you seen a mandarin collar suit, also called a box collar? i think i can see that on him...

This is pretty cool, the face is very well done, though his neak looks a little on the thick side. If you want to check out some real cool pieces of Mr. Welling, then check alexrossart.com, he did a couple of real cool pencil illustrations of Tom as Superman. Cool stuff.
