Hey folks
Well this is a drawing of Aragorn. I think its one of my bests :D although there are still some mistakes in the drawing.

I think you honestly have a great technique with pencil.
but...
You made the face to short and the eyes too wide. I don't think you should or have to copy perfectly from a photo, but you do have to keep in mind your proportions more carefully. This is a great attempt, but those two distortions really keep this piece from flying off the page with realism.
But... I do think you have you pencil skills down.

His eyes are too large for his head. You compressed the head size but kept the eye size the same; making him look child-like. There is a more outward curve from the chin to cheekbones, The highligh on the nostril curves too much down, and is more uniform in the original. The lips are off as well. Try working with the hair more, making it more wavy and trail off rather than straight and trailing off. Hope this helps.

the picture isn't loading for me.
so, my only comment is that Mr Smith seems to be drawn by alot of people alot of the time.

When i first saw it it just didn't look right to me. Now I figured out what it is. if you look only at the top of his head, it looks like a picture of a woman. You need to make him more manly. otherwise good sketch.

I felt the same as meDrawUC. I do beleive it is the sparkling sparkling eyes.
