Hi!

I posted this before in the wrong thread... so here again:

I ordered (finally) a Wacom Intuos 2 A5 after years of working with a DinA6 ArtPad II and a volito at work.

So my questions:

The Intuos 2 is very expensive compared to this other tablets. Is it worth it's money?

I think the ArtPad has 256 pressure steps and the volito 512, right? So 1024 is great... but what are other features of this tablet which make it to the most used one out there?

And where is the difference between a USB Intuos 2 and the 'normal' COM version?
My USB Volito at work has some strange time losses when I start painting with the pen it starts a little later.
Anybody heard of this problem with an Intuos 2 ???

Thanks for your answers!

Best wishes,

Chris

I've got an intuos 1 at home and an Intuos 2 at work. I have to say the Intuos 2 is loads better.

They've made the surface of the pad more tactile with the pen so it just feels a lot more intuitive to use.

When I can afford it i'll get an Intuos 2 for home...

oh and also, my Intuos 1 is a Com port tablet, it's a right pain as sometimes the bloody thing doesn't get recognised by the PC, then I have to sit around installing/removing/reinstalling the drivers until it works....

Get the USB version.

Ok, thanks for the help!

Anybody know of some 'timing' problems with the tablet? (Start drawing but the cursor starts moving a little later... I have this strange problem with my volito at work)

if the cursor is slow or sticky, the problem may be how much ram is in your computer, not how fast the tablet reads it. I use an Intuos 2 and do not have the responsiveness problem you describe.

I had this problem at work also...it was a bad combination of flash mx and Mac Os X as far as i remember...

The problem with the delayed stroke with the volito is probably because you have set the pens double click distance to high. Lower it and it should help.

Thank you for all your help!
I got my Intuos 2 this weekend... it is functioning without lags ;)

It is really nice to work with this tablet.
