Character design pricing?

I am talking to someone who is looking for 8 characters to be designed; 7 of which will be something like the Despicable Me minions [small, cutesy guys], and the 8th will be of a girl - think Jessica Rabbit.

I am told that the small characters will all look very similar, and that these designs will be used for a website. I am not sure what to charge, however.

What would be a decent range to charge per character?

And how much do you need to live each week?
