Hey everyone,

wow, i think it's been 10 years since i last posted here. =P

Sorry for not updating for so long. I've been very busy lately.

Jason M. keeps making fun of me for not posting...so here i am....happy Jason??! ;)

Here are some designs i did for the game BloodRayne (did these about 5 month ago).

First is the final boss dood. This version is based from Terminal Reality's already existing design...i justed added more stuff on it.

Next is the tower where he lives. I also designed this based off of a rough layout sketch provided by TR.

And here's something completely different. This is a painting done for a StarTrek related project while i was still working for Blur. Started w/ a rough pen sketch..and finished it in PS.

Feedback/comments welcome.. however these are old and delivered drawings...so i can't change them anymore..but i'm always open to suggestions.... ;)

wow. amazing. Whats your background? How long did it take you to get thru college? Was the job easy to get? etc. I wanna know about this concept art thing for games. It sounds like alot of fun.

feng, that last background is damn interesting. very original style. i used to really remember your characters, now it's the same for your environment stuff. plain awesome.
on the first character design, this little blue light coming from below really adds depth to the image. a very nice touch.

Whoa, this is pure eye candy. I love the first one, very original. The 4th Star Trek one is also very cool, love the atmosphere of the whole piece. Glad to see you posting here Feng, your work is truly inspirational.

What can I say...my brother showed me your art like 6 months ago and I haven't been able to get enough of it since. I have been really inspired by your art and the way you have succeeded in the industry...it has been a really inspirational and motivating force for me. This is awesome to be able to see more of your art!!! Looks awesome man. I saw some of your stuff for the Lord of the Rings game...I saw your sketch of the black riders. Your signature is really unique so I am able to pick out your art even if they don't list your name hehe. You are hands down one of my top ten favorite artists...I'm sure I'm not alone in that either. Keep posting...your stuff is inspiring.

Damn, just when I starting to feel good about my own stuff again. Great stuff as always but I'm wondering if colour is becoming a major part of your work now. Its just that it seems to be popping up a lot more lately.

I'll hate myself if I don't ask this but do you have any idea whta the status of Mindbridge is? I understand you're no longer working at Blur but I thought you might at least have some idea of what the schedule was for trailers and final release date (my interest is more because I'm keen to see how a Warren Ellis script works on screen).

First of all, really great work.


But about the second one.

The building is obviusly "gothic-like" with a touch of sci-fi.
But i dont think, the gothic-part is well tought-out.

the idea behind gothic-churches like the "cologne cathedral" is - on the ground, the building is full-bodied, and towards the sky, it becomes more disembodied(more glasses, more curlicues, etc.) to symbolize the play between body and soul.

wow, you guys are waaaaayyyy too kind. Thank you for all the positive feedback. It's hard for me to post drawings, because most of what i draw is always under NDA.

I wish i could've done more design work for BloodRayne....but we were only working on the pre-rendered cinematics, so i just designed what was needed.

Kevin Chen is doing well; he is teaching a lot of classes these days...some at Art Center. I'd love to take one of his classes myself. He is truely awesome.

Thank you Duracel for the tower comment. I never knew that about gothic cathedral design. I kinda just made it up...i should've done more research before hand.

here are some more drawings. These were done for the cinematic trailer to a LOTR game. They are sorta dry...cuz i drew it more for the 3D shot....i should've put in some characters to give it more life. I've learned sooooooooo much about environment designs since then.....but it was still fun drawing these at the time. Wow..these are almost 2 years old...
