ok every paycheck i tell myself i am gonna buy an instructional dvd like the ones by ( ryan church or Feng) and i talk myself out of it each week buy saying i have years of art instruction and really right now it is just practice.... so today i start a thread of my current work in progress .... i am designing my own technique for this as i go so here is a basic stage ......

oh wow thats some nice colours there..... although not very gothic... more disneys idea of gothic if you get what i mean
but anyway your making some very nice progress with that
good job!

the colors don't look too gothic, but that could probably be fixed without too much trouble. the buildings and shapes look quite good though, better than my crude attempts at rendering architecture. if you're going for a gothic look, I'd use dark blacks, grays, and blues and make lots of spiky towers and spires and make everything remniscent of gothic cathedral architecture, but that's just how I think of gothic. keep up the good work!

yeah actually the title no long matches .... if people were watching from the begining you would notice that the original sketch has changed .......

that's really good, so do you first draw your perspective points and then just doodle the rest, until you go into detail on one thing.
Sorry im new at this, just want to know how you guys do it.

sorta making it up as i go but here is my general steps............ i draw a sketch with basic perspective and scan that in ..... and work over that.... i also have a layer that i sketch in perspective lines for seperate object.....
