I think it was Beksinski who hated silence and would only paint listening to classical music, so it got me wondering what others enjoyed listening to while they draw/paint/sculpt/etc.
When I practice drawing I've gotta say I'm most partial to jazz, The Bad Plus's "Prog" and Miles Davis' "Kind of Blue" in particular. It's complex and beautiful but not jarring or distracting, and it just seems to go with the visual of pencils moving over paper. I love jazz all the time but particularly when drawing. That, or something that evokes a particularly strong mood that fits what I'm trying to go for, Fever Ray (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3PPOuuep7Q) for example.
What does everyone else put in their ears?
