They're referenced from George B. Bridgeman's "The Human Machine." In my opinion, Bridgeman wrote (drew) the best books on anatomy and drawing.

haha i have the bridgeman which has all his books smashed together. i think its because i havnet gone into the hand part, just the arm. im gettin there! yea bridgeman is great, though is descriptions arent very helpful, showing in mass helps a bunch. welp back to drawing :D

In my humble opinion, there are three ultimate anatomy sutras...and they have different approach. BRIDGEMAN, LOOMIS, and VILPU. I am not going to say how r they diff 'cuz I am not qualify, but u will know when you look at them. Great Bridgeman study by the way.

I like Loomis' method of breaking down the body in to simple planar forms for painting. It really helps to establish values. I've never heard of Vilpu but I'll keep an eye open for his books.

Development of style for proposed graphic novel. Fine ink lines with wet-in-wet ink washes. (Though I think I worked a little too wet here)
This is just sketchbook paper, so I got really irregular bleeding. Does anyone know a good (preferably cheap) kind of paper that works well with ink wash?
More of this variety of drawing to come.

These sketches are really cool. The hands, especially the first set, are great studies. I also like your ink and marker (I think?) sketches, and that logo is off da hook. rock on.

Messy Bridgeman studies. The way I see it, it's like taking notes in class. You're never going to read them, so why make it legible? The important part is the process of running the information through your mind to your hand. Of course, process-oriented exercises can yield interesting results (such as a blind contour).

More graphic novel development. Still not being aggressive enough with the ink... all my wet-in-wet washes are turning out like glazes because I keep fussing with them. I just have to find the right balance of tightness of drawing and looseness of style.

hey, your sketchbook kicks some ass, dude. your last pages are great, I really like that jumping figure and the kid's face. the figure though has some failures, at least her left hand looks a bit weird to me, as well as the lenght of the arms, but I'm not that good at anatomy, so what am I talking ;) Hand studies are solid, have to do those, too. Well, needless to say that the mustang rendering is KILLER!! don't stop, keep up the great work.
