I'd like to create a simple animation that involves just basic geometric shapes and line. Would it be best to go into Photoshop and just draw out each frame and then find a program that can compile them into one video, or would it get hard managing so many files? Are there any free animation tools that would work better?

i'd get ahold of macro media flash 5 or flash MX..you can probably download a free version from someone or on MIRC, or get a free trial version, or if you are interested and have high speed i could send it to you via AIM. just PM me if you want.

I was going to say Flash also... but if you're going looking for it, Macromedia is one word. i know you can download a 30 day trial from the macromedia website www.macromedia.com (http://www.macromedia.com)
...edit...
here (http://www.macromedia.com/software/flash/?promoid=home_prod_flash_082403) is the link directly to the Flash part, hope that helps !
