Was just wondering what those of you who aren't making money with your art make your money doing?

I just started a job as a mover...

I think this thread already exists somewhere else.

I've been driving a blind piano tuner, making 9 bucks an hour, free gas and free lunch. I'll be starting an internship in three weeks at either a big evil design firm or this studio that does toy package illustration.

That's sounds more up my alley, because I like lifting heavy things. Do you only have to move packages, or do you also need to help pack and unpack small things?

Computer programmer here. Currently doing business applications in python and a few other technologies. Did Java for a while too and a lot of web development.

I only ever wanted to be in computers so I could make video games...that didn't happen. Time to try doing something I love. :)

well, i'm only 2 days in so far, and the only thing I've had to pack was 1 woredrobe box (clothes), and that took about..5 minutes, max. We drive to the place, load boxes onto the truck, load furniture on the truck, go to the new place, unload the furniture, unload the boxes, and then done. The people have bought lunch both times (nice perk) and i guess since its becoming summer the work is really starting to pick up. I see you are in Washington, I'm working in Kent, near Renton...if you want more info PM me.

Yeah the perks of the gig is that i get to see a lot of naked babe and there's time when guys or gals bring in the pics of thier babes to put on the cake for erotic portraits. That's fun.

You do have to be pretty comfertable wit your sexuality though becuse u do have to paint the unit lot's of times. Boy do i mean lot's of times we have a way bigger female cliaentel than men.

Good times :)

I draw+paint people's characters for mmorpgs after I'm done with my tech support job.

Funny how many of us are in the tech field. Both are lonely professions.

By the end of this summer I should be a landlord.

Pretty much all my money goes to pay for my education at RSAD...

I work as a teacher, in a pretty low-social neighborhood, and try to survive the attitude...and not getting to pissed off on those crazy kids, who know nothing about life except how to steal a motorcykle, run it 'til it breaks, bust the gastank, and set the whole thing on fire....

It's fun, and the best part, I get away from there at the end of the day :)
