Im trying to get this done within the next day or so. The idea is a deep sea fish sort of appearance combined with that of a vampire. S'pretty much it.
Im still trying to work out a quick concept method with the wacom. Aside from teeth and blank background its all on one layer and I've been working almost exclusively with the default soft brush. Ive still got of tightening up to do but critiques are most welcome.

Thanks Ian. Been fooling around the last couple hours and this what that fooling has amounted too. I think he might have lost some his visciousness. See what you think.

Wow, there's a lot of detail in that face! I really like how that's progressed, and at first I wasn't sure about the teeth, but after the detail you put in around each tooth, it looks much better.
What does concern me is that it looks like you're going to put the same heavy highlight on his spine that you've put on his chin. It just doesn't seem like the light source (assuming there's one) would do that.
edit: "assuming there's one" simply means that there aren't multiple light sources. Thought that sounded bad after first posting.

Thanks Mr. Right.
Put some more work into it. New pose, refined the light a bit, added some extra detail. I still plan to add quite a bit of texture to the face and back.

Got a bit distracted but managed to find time today to work in the back a bit. I think this blister thing is a cool direction to go but I'm open to other suggestions. I changed the eye to make it look more level and I added some veins in the back as well.
ooooh scary!
