well, your problem obviously is the proportions. Nice try, and don't feel bad. Were all here to learn someway or another. The only thing I could suggest is to take anatomy classes at your local junior college. And draw everyday. Look at people at draw them. This helps if u take classes and draw. U learn to capture the pose in a matter of minutes sometimes seconds. And just practice.

Here's a rough colored version...

I still have to pick at it, redo the lines and adjust a few more things, but it's kinda like an underpainting at the moment...
as for proportions, they're quite skewed, as is the anime style... I'm not going so much for realism as I am the anime 'feel'.

I would suggest thinking more about volume and form than 2d shapes.
I seem to remember an early art teacher of mine telling me to imagine a line being the path taken by a little ant as it walks across the surface of the figure.
I kind of like that. I know it's a little hoaky, but it does get one thinking about form.

shiva might i suggest someting as you seem to oh so arogantly ignore the underlying importance of proportoins, i think its a grave mistake on your part thinking that you will ever be good at drawing without the fundementals, mind you i was the same way and now i am still repenting for my well stupidity. Although your picture is not supposed to be a photo realistic copy of real life would you not agree that it is important to first be able to draw something perfectly before one attempts to distort it ?
