HI Ya. I dunno if anyone will look in here **crosses fingers** But I saw all of these wonderful sketchbook postings so I decided I would give it a try. Just some doodles....what people I guess would consider line art because there isn't much shading.

Comments and critiques greatly appreciated!!!! :D

First one is a warrior in some sort of castle setting I guess. I know the perspective is off on the fountain and some other things...hehe but I'm workin' on it

Second one is sort of a beginning of a costume design for an underwater civilization.

Next is the beginning of a costume design somewhat inspired by the movie "The Last Emperor." I know it's hard to tell why but I intend on adding details to the dress and the headdress.

Your problem is the perspective...go to fineart.sk (I think itīs ccorrect) and see some important things about the perspective and basic forms... then, try to use a maniquee (skeleton) to do the pose, and above this make the character. When you learn this things you will be able to draw more correctly. Then, if you want, do studies of anatomy human (or horses ;) ).

Your proportions are correct, your ideas are correct,, your line is mid correct.... but the two things said before you have to correct them.

I dont want to critiquice you .. but i had the same problem as you. When i saw those old sketches i pray to had learned this things. Bye.

Sorry for my Baaaad english.

yeah, study the anatomy. i think you're almost there, but you just need that little push. Do life drawings, they will help, and just keep drawing constantly.

Its good to see the ideas and stuff showing through. They are very basic sketches and thus you will get less critiques (as people cant comment on tone, colour etc). Definately work on anatomy especially around the face at first.

Stay confident and youll get there.

A good resource for anatomy is loomis' "Figure Drawing for All Its Worth" available free online.

Expect a lot of (satisfying) work ahead of you!
