View Full Version : Posting services instead of positions?

I'm starting to notice an increase in the number of times i click on a job posting on 'Art jobs for the art mobs' only to find that rather than being a position being advertised it is someone advertising themselves as available for positions.

I am not quite sure if people are or are not supposed to do this, but if they are, is there any way to filter what you can see/ get fed on twitter etc to people posting actual jobs, and not jobseekers?

If they are not supposed to, then maybe a big text sign in the posting process somewhere that says not to post to offer to do work, but rather only post to offer other people work to do.

XD

Same opinion here. I reported it to a moderator, who asked me which post it was, and then nothing happended.
I think this is a let down in the quality of the forum. These posts should be in "oppotunities" or other dedicated section.

I wondered about that too. Shouldn't they be posting in the "artists looking for job" forum?

It would make job searching more efficient for jobseekers (like me) if we could filter other jobseekers out. The variety of ads can get confusing.

How about either 1) the moderators allow only employers on jobs.conceptart.org
or 2) we get an extra section for job seekers.
Of course, we already have the "Artists looking for jobs" forum so option 1 would make sense.

There's now a poll up on the Art Jobs site regarding this, "Should Art Jobs include a section for artists seeking work?"

If a section is created for that purpose, how would it differ from the Artists Looking for Work forum? Would employers actually use it, dig through the various posts and contact the artists to get rates?

I think it's possible that some people never visited the forums and went straight to the job section and/or didn't see the "available for work" part of the forums.

In any case, adding an "artist looking for work" category to the job section would probably clear up the "clutter", even if it's a duplicate of the forum one?

Hopefully, Dreamgate, but considering people now can't or don't read the current rules I'm doubtful. I think I saw a repeat offender as well.
