I saw an ad for his classes on Craigslist.org and I went to his website. Looks like he was classically trained and his work looks pretty good. He runs 8 sessions for $180, which seems a bit pricey..so I was wondering if anyone has any experience with him.

Ok, I can understand there probably aren't a lot of people in the area that can comment. How about the pricing considering his level of ability. His work is really good, but do you think I should sign up?

To me, $180 weeks for 8 weeks of classes really doesn't seem that pricey (especially considering at my college I pay over a grand for a very similar class). These types of classes and workshops look like they would be very beneficial, so if you like his work I would say go for it.
There are a lot of Art Instruction houses in the area... if you do a search on that you'll find that courses like this generally run in the $150-300 range. There are also many that cost upwards of $1000, so you'll be able to compare.
