Hi. I'm a fairly new person around here, and I have learned loads already. I now need some help. I drew a picture called "Goulst" and I have coloured it with photoshop. It's my first real attempt of computer colouring and I only have a clumsy mouse. I would really appreciate comments and tips, thankyou!
The orignal sketch:

The Process:

Best thing to have when you are about to start colouring a work is a clean sketch, Dont shade or stuff like that, just draw the basic lines.
Good luck!

I think it might look better if you use a harder brush. The light/shadow looks really "smudge too"'ish

Wich program do you use?
In photoshop its basicly just to click the "brush tool" and in your upper left corner there is a size thing for you brush and if you explore that area alittle further you will find the "hardness" settings.
Also work with opacity, so you layer each brush stroke upon eachother to make it darker.

Thanks. I use photoshop 7. If you look at the process pic, I did use the opacity to an extent, but I see where you're coming from, I need to to make it darker in places. Thank you very much.

I think this will be the final edit on this piece, I've learned loads, I would appreciate if I could have more C+C by the way.

Cool job, especially for a beginner. (With that I mean it's better than the stuff I try, actually I suck in computer drawing)
I dont' know how you should do it, but wouldn't it be better if you accentuate the lines, you know, make them more visible?
Just a suggestion é.

Yeah I know what you mean, thanks very much. In future I'm going to pen my lines before I colour to make them more visible.

Perhaps if you had read the thread you would have noticed that I thought I was finished. C + C was intended for me to learn for the future. It turned out that I wanted to carry on.
