Salutations, artists. I know that I'm really not good enough to be here, but dammit, I'm hell-bent on improving! Just out of curiosity, are most of the people on this board pro's? It would make me feel slightly less horrid about myself:D

Anyway, I have a somewhat limited art experience: I'm in the tenth grade, and am in the middle of my first actual art class. Below are what i consider to be my best pieces so far. Please note that these are only the images that could fit on my home scanner. I have one or two that I need to go have scanned at Kinkos or wherever you go to do that (could someone help with on that topic?). And yes, I know most of it is fantasy/japanimation/fanart in style, but I am, after all, only a beginner.

Well, please crit my work, if you don't consider it a total waste of time.

The Lord of the Undead
Mostly a Magic: The Gathering fanart. My first piece in which I actually tried to concentrate on tone, and to a lesser degree, texture. Also the first time I used a kneaded eraser in my art.

No Use Running, it's in Your Blood....
A Resident Evil fanart. My first use of Painter. I really don't know any Painter techniques, so I only used a simple Opaque Round brush to make this piece.

Bird.
Scratchboard. Ah, some actual art! Done for the class I'm taking.

Ardanian, Wizard Adept
My latest "original" piece. I have trouble with independent creativity. I tend to use so many references that my work turns out as a hodge-podge of about ten different pictures. Does independence develop over time, or am I just uncreative? :(

Shivan Elf
Well, since this is a concept art forum, I just had to include a concept pic, right? my first "comission," a friend wante dme to create an image of his character card from Magic: The Gathering.

Well, there you have it. Any potential?

And again, sorry to waste your time.*I am officially the worst artist on this BBS*

Youve definitely got some potential
My favorites are the second and 5th.
Unfortunately, I really dont like the animeish style of the 4th one..and the 1st could use some more contrast between different elements or less distracting elements.

for some stupid friekin reason i can't see your pics, and it's "forbidden", or that's what the comp says, and it's like those red x's that really piss me off cause i have no idea what they mean...
anyway, just a thought here; why are all artists so self-depreciating? (i do it to, so i suppose it's an all-encompassing question)... all-i mean ALL-of the art i have seen on these threads, on conceptart, is good, or shows huge potential, or is just cool...come on, guys, we can't all suck...my point is, i like looking at every thread here i can get my hands on, because this is the most inspiration i've had in one spot in years...i will keep trying to get to your pics, and will post again when i do...keep drawin...
i'm getting scanner soon!
