Ros1 – Excellent, excellent entry. You are like an enviro specialist. It’s an interesting scene seeing as it’s been abandoned. Or nobody’s home. A little mysterious, maybe haunted, but thrilling at the same time. A small thing I noticed is the main tree’s trunk towards the bottom of the image, meaning the farthest point I can see down the tree, the trunk looks like its slimmer/curving downwards. Looks like it’d cause the tree to blow over more easily during a storm, incase your planning on living there. :)
merl1n – Now this could be a scene from a movie with a completely opaque, iridescent painting to real life translator machine. Reminds me of a screenshot from the first Lord of the Rings movie where they show a lake in the evening and a distant hobbit tavern with lights flickering from within. Either that, or scenes from the movie The Patriot where the militia can be seen in the gloom of the forest hunched over a series of glimmering fires. The colors were well chosen and the placement, appearance, and tree structure all looked like very realistic, durable perspectives.
Varguy – I wouldn’t want to go anywhere near that house without a weapon of some kind… even a keyboard would do. Good job creating a sense of creepiness, and the feeling like no one but that house’s inhabitant belongs there in exclusive company for a terrifying reason. I liked your colors and wet textures. I thought the skulls were cool, but a simple mailbox could’ve sufficed, haha.
JzeiJzei – It almost looks like a dead titan, frozen in a grotesque position. It’s outstretched hands or claws are replaced by the thick tree branches in this case. Colors and effect of warmth from the sun are effective, but I can’t tell if it’s a polar habitat, a desert habitat, or a scorched forest area in the aftermath of a cataclysmic event, or a massive fire. It could be a combination of all of those, which would give it more succeptilbility to interpretation and leaves the storyline open. The idea of the shipwreck was cool; you thought outside the box.
Dragon4lunch – hey drago, that sky is really nice. This carries the air of a biblical prophecy, or a place from a chronicled event that changes life, death and everything in between it forever. Reminds me of an older EOW topic theme called ‘Dark Sabbath: Witche’s Heath” or something similar. A hermet of the macabre lives here, or simply just a misunderstood old lady who burned all her least favorite romance novels… nice entry!
gunsbins – Ummm… wow. That described my first reaction when I saw your environment. Great work here, the color selection to choose from is scrumptious and it’s a feast for the eyes immediately.
Trapiki –Where’s the door?! Lol cool entry man. There’s areas you need to work on but I liked the effort you put into doing the body of leaves in the tree. The combo of light green, light brown and pink gave this one more life. Keep it up!
Siryder – Loved the perspective in this one. Those structures are sentinels poised over the seas with bony-mechanical ensembles of inhabitants contributing to their organic roles. The sky is really nice and the eagle a nice touch. The enviro as a whole could be sharpened in quality for a more clearer (HD) view, but well done.
Kloakatriposa – This is fun. Very playful charming colors with a sparkle of light humor. It’s like “if little wizards populated Rivendell” while the elves were away.. the colors were precise, especially the green you used for the trees and foliage. This is an entry to be proud of – great job.
ErikStorstein – Solid work as a whole, the trees, filtering light and flock of small white birds have to be my favorite aspect of the enviro though. I liked the adventurous feeling of being that man living in this concisely built villa in the trees, doing his daily chore while his pets play and his supper cooks. I felt like while the mood was right on point, you might’ve played it too safe architecturally for this to be more of a standout. Small critique: the antlers on the outside wall and the yellow tarp look slightly out of place.
Migsta – Damn Mig, your constantly improving with every progressing piece I see from you. I got vibes of the art from the movie Thumbelina (I think) when I took this one in for the first time. Really thorough detailing, and this suggests a larger world the viewer may want to explore. Tight work.
PokketMowse – Unexpected approach! I wasn’t anticipating a tropical approach for some reason. This looked like something you would see on a postcard. Polished, with accurate colors.
Insane_lemur – I don’t know what part of this concept I like so much but I thought it was brilliant. Once again your style is dead on in my eyes. Thanks for participating lemur!
Blackball21 – The fortress/pagoda structure atop the tree was a good addition to your enviro. I’m part Israeli and I’ve always been around Hebrew-themed art and this felt like it was traditional, adhering to a natural, purer age of art that many have forgotten in the digital age. The bottom areas need work – aside from that, not a bad entry by any means.
JSpayde – Interesting.. those hanging mechanisms could be industrial beehive structures – the honeybearing, manmade forestry techniques of the future for manufacturing maple syrup. One of the humble growers – this is his home. Hah, vibrant color scheme; what catches my eye is the wooden panels on the main-middle body of the treehouse. They have the tangy orange/brown hues of a carrot yet they look soft for planks, placed on in a nonchalant manner.
Xinranliu – Nice! That’s beautifully gnarley, but modernistic at the same time. A hearty blend of futuristic, intimidating and artistically vivacious. Transformers concept art inspired, maybe?

The best entry was gunsbins by far! excellent colours and composition, as Vulgar said a feast for your eyes!

Ros1, the lighting in your entry is great, I'm a fan of this sort of lighting through trees and whatnot being able to see the beams of light go through objects and some indication of lighti hitting the walkway. Good job!

A cool scene in your piece, merl1n. And a nice atmosphere, I think punching up the warm colours in the center would improve this piece even further

PokketMowse, Your piece has a very homey and peaceful feel to it, the tropical atmosphere is great and the house itself looks vewry relaxing to be in. You did a good job here!
On a side note, about Migsta's entry, you've got some awsome skills, but it seems to be missing something that would make it seem a bit less flat, probably some texturing is some places, and the cloth entrance seems a bit too perfect,I think it needs some tattering in some places to make it look more warn out. But anyways a great piece, and it makes me wonder why I didn't vote for it earlier...I'll get you next time though :)

merl1n - Cool mood in your work and nice idea with the house located in the roots.

gunsbins - Great concept and nice colors. Maybe a little bit to many different elements everywhere, i think it would be nice to make some places more "clean". (I'm not exactly sure how to say it in english :P)

corrick - Great environment, as always. But it slightly resembles a treehouse for me. It looks more like some strange forest. But besides that, amazing work, great colors.

I voted for Ros1 and Verehin. Ros1's picture has great mysterious feeling and is very vell crafted.
Verehin's entry is perhaps less pompeous than stuff of the others however it has incredibly pleasant colors and very nice soft feeling. Pitty that people overlooked this one.

It is also great that eow is finnaly full of participants! This is how it always should have been. :)

Trying to give some feedback here:
Ros1: I love the atmosphere to your piece. I do wish you had added more trace of the fact that something had lived there before, at the moment it looks more like something is being built and was abandoned in the process. If that's the case, give us some hint at why it was abandoned perhaps.

merl1n: I really enjoy the colours you chose and it gives a nice feel of a witches house or something similar, you got my vote :)

Varguy: Nice piece, I think you're going a bit too crazy wit the sharp edged lines everywhere though

JzeiJzei: I like the idea of using a vehicle in a tree as the treehouse (I had a similar sketch with a plane) I think your piece would benefit from more variation in the way you show various materials. Having the highly contrasting sun back there makes my eye go to the right of the shot, where there's not much else, you might want to consider more where you want the viewer to look.

dragon4lunch I like the colours and style of the image, but I wish you had done more to it than stick a door on a tree.

gunsbins This feels more like a tree city, which is not a bad thing. I would add somewhere in the image where the eye can rest, at the moment it's a bit busy.

Trapiki I think what you should do is go away from the use of crazy custom brushes and focus more on fundamentals. At the moment you have details everywhere and it flattens the image.

siryder interesting and I love the scifi feel to these houses, kind of reminding me of some of the architectural designs of the newer star wars films (I know most people dont like them, but the production design is still top notch). If I was your AD I would of wanted you to focus on the furthest away of the t(h)ree houses. It has some really cool shapes going on!
