if these are a progression you're definately getting better, if not sorry, one thing about accuracy the guy at the top would have used a plug bayonet fitted into the end of the barrel.

b-bye meow y'hear

You use that cat for your avatar. I thought at first it was a photo. Now I know it's a painting. Good job!

Well, there's a lesson to be learned here: references are useful.

I like the wolf too - have you tried to add some spectacles ? heheh

sorry it took awhile to get back to you, been busy and the web server was down for a bit.

I did one more image in the meantime and I've realized that it typifies all of your crits. I'm going to start taking more photos to work from and pull together more reference material before my next character concepts. I'm also going to do my drawings with real pencils and paper. My digital drawings typically start very scribbly and are erased down to the forms and lines I want. Going back to graphite and paper should give me better lines and cleaner shapes.

Thanks for looking and pushing me forward!

Granny wolf is great, so is the half goat barbarian guy with the axe. The three fisrt pictures have nice shapes, but colors do not seem very appealing to me- I think it maight be bcause of Bground, still, they pass very well without changes.
I thought the black cat was from E.A.Poe´s story. Y´know, the one stuck on the wall..

wow, ok, my cat was a little pissed that I was shining a light on her and shoving a camera in her face while she was trying to sleep, but she wasn't upset like she'd be if I had bricked her up inside a wall with someone I had murdered! (I think that's how the Poe story goes, I haven't thought about that one in years)

thanks for commenting. I'm working hard on my color schemes and rendering, trying to find ways of using opaque color that enhances the shapes I draw.

this one has reference, but now I'm at a point where I'm saying, "ok, now what?" consider this one an anatomy study, I guess. If you have a sugggestion for a fix or a story or a character here, I'm all ears.

The next image I work will have to start with a concept. :)

I really like the first two pics of renaissance-ish soldiers, that time period, as well as the middle ages, really interests me. they might have looked even cooler if you had paid more attention in costume and equipment design to actual renaissance-era stuff, but perhaps you weren't going for exact historical accuracy, just a basic feeling for that time period.
It always strikes me how a lot of made-up or semi made-up arms, armor and equipment seen in movies and games these days is actually less appealing, sometimes very much so, than the awesome stuff that was actually used back in the day, and which can be seen simply by picking up a book or going to a museum.
I know other people have said this, but I love your portrait of your cat, it just looks so photorealistic!:)

That most recent pic looks like you could turn it into a great zombie...and I don't know why but I just got the impression that he's backstage in a theater or something, maybe it's that curtain like red cloth. zombie at the theater? zombie actor? actor who thinks he's a zombie? (that's actually what it looks the most like)
