nice pic xbiten, but it needs colour, even just a 'multiply' layer over it with a flat colour would make it look more, er, colourful.

cant wait to see what comes out of this topic.

i probably wont have a try till tomorrow.

Matt and mike... guys, thats just amazing.

beeglebug
April 23rd, 2004, 01:22 PM
Morr, a Fiend is usually taken to be any evil creature, usualy undead or demonic, in this sense it is anything evil that lives in a crypt, either to feed on the dead, or to protect them (maybe even one of them).

Here's my contribution for today, probably not a fiend per se, but it came from a crypt, so sue me :)

EDIT: I've added an alternate version, I like it, but i'm never sure about 'effects heavy' stuff... See what you think.

A real quick and nasty sketch from me. I tried to do something with the nose and mouth and failed, but damn it... I had to get one in this week.
http://pookabin.com/images/DSG/DSG422_CryptFiend.jpg

xbiten - He looks a friendly fellow. And "oh my... what big nostrils you have!"

Ideaspark - Lovin' the head on that thing. Interesting brush combinations.

village idiot - Drybrush acrylics eh?! Similar to the feather oils I enjoy so much. I'll have to give them a try. Real nice skin tones and emaciated look.

artistanbul - I've just been checking out this weeks topics and have noticed your different styles. Great stuff all round.

ninjataotao - very nice pose.

JSlayer - I like the multiple eyes, but the anatomy could do with more deffinition IMHO. I'm not reading his hind quarters. Is he coming out of a hole?

Matt Dixon - Great as always. I wish I had stuck to a normal mouth and nose too.

jasonka - I love the look of the skull he's holding, but I have a real hatred of cartoon style scars.

MIKECORRIERO - Super sweet filter work. Looks kinda like a transparent doppleganger thing. Nice fresh looking design.

Dr. Stevew - Shit I love that!

beeglebug - I'd stick with the original: the line work looks too good to mess up.

Shea - Gotta love that face. The stance and detail are very nice.

young paddy1 - The bandages add alot of character to that. I like it.

auden100 - really good design. The anatomy of the kneck and torso throw me off a little, but the rest looks cool.

Ideaspark

Matt Dixon, Mike Corriero those are really great I quite like them

Auden I realy love yours as well, except for the bg, looks a little too flat , but the creature is awesome.

Twisting and turning threw the tunnels he travels… Exploring and slaying, adventuring and seeking… then he sees the young adventure who lost his way, and the crypt fiend finds dinner.

ugh, didn't have enough time. You know, early work, drawing way too late :P

I started in the right side, and it gets sloppier as i go left.

But hell, it was fun! TOMORROW (I hope :P)

Didn't turn out as I'd have wanted, but I learned a bit anyways.

when posting a reply there is a button labled IMG. hit that button and a box will come up. clear the box out and put the link for your picture in the box and click ok. submit and the pic will show up just fine.

nice idea. very morbid.

Oddo
April 24th, 2004, 02:27 AM
The crypt fiend. The particularly nasty one with piercings. Drags other corpses with him and hits you with them . So I could say he also works in psycological ways ;). In the bottle on his back he has slimy anti rigor mortis lotion that he purs on him every once in a while. :D

Pencil, about one hour, scanned , blurred a bit some areas to look more painterly :). Also touched up the colors a bit.The cyan is my blue pencil that starts my sketches. The violet is 4B normal lead pencil. ...
no more tablet and color till the pencils skills get better:).
