Apparently, Glenn Vilppu has a number of DVDs over at his site (http://www.vilppustudio.com). I was looking to get the Drawing Manual when I came across his DVD selection. Seems like he has a lot.

Seeing as I'd never heard of them before, I was wondering if any of you had purchased any of the DVDs. I can't find any reviews or mention of them elsewhere on the web, and as they're about $30 each I don't want to be stuck with a product that I can't use.

If anybody's purchased or even heard about these DVDs, I could really use some information about 'em. What they cover specifically, how in-depth they go, how well they convey the information, stuff like that.

Thanks.

I don't know the DVD's. I have a bunch of the video tapes. Some are better than others.

The neck one, for example, is very good about teaching the structures of the neck; it makes a few interesting observations about form and it points out how to handle places that can be confusing.

The pelvis one, on the other hand, is not organized in that way at all; it's merely a number of drawings being developed that focus on the pelvic area -- with very little anatomy instruction, or even talk of any kind, for that matter.

I believe the tapes came out a while ago, so I would not compare them to the DVDs. They are new and filmed from actual lectures that he gives the class every week. Basically you would be getting the same thing that a student would get from attending his class. I do not currently own any of them, but I have seen some of the DVDs and I think the quality is better than the tapes.

Personally, I think his lectures are clear, indepth, and get the point across. He likes to "show" you how to do something by drawing it rather than just talking about it. I particularly like his head drawing and anatomy class because it is very specific.

Well, I don't know how to explain it any better than that.
If you live in California, you can try attending one of his classes to see what he's like.
