I really like something about this. The composition is very nice, complex but not too busy. My main problem is that it's hard to read. Some of the figures are quite apparent but others (ike what appears to be a man in the foreground to the right of the guy casing a fireball or whatever) are hard to see what is really going on. the creatures head is good but is that another head that the man is shooting the magic into? It looks like there was a strange growth on the beasts side that the mage blew up. Also, the creature looks like it has no lower body. Overall, I wol say that I think the concept and composition are solid, but maybe you need to keep working on the actual rendering with the paint to make things clearer. Also, what size is the original painting? MAybe if you could post a link to a bigger sized copy it would be easier for us to see.
PS-Is that a rock spire running thru the middle of the background? It's hard to read as well. Also, the main reason that the second head (?) of the beast is hard to read is because it has very human like anatomy and well...most people don't have second heads and most DO have legs. So some clarification is required to make that more readable as well.

Hrm . . . not much in the way of feedback.
Though I do thank you Hale for your insiteful thoughts on it, I will post a revised version in a day or so with the suggestions of yours in mind . . . Although, I must admit I'm not sure how to strengthen the crumbling pillar (yes, that's what it's supposed to be). I'm hoping posting it a little larger will alleviate that particular problem.
Let's hope the rest of the revisions speak enough for themselves that the picture can be more easily understood.
