Here it is again one of my doubts :), i read about this technique to ceck the readability of a composition. Example by the author on a painting
http://www.arieldiaz.com/images/wyeth.jpg
you see that there is a lot of white around, so the eye has a lost of space in which rest ... it should refer as a good composition. In the case of the famous plumber scene by Antropus, we should get a weak readabilty instead, becuase the eye has few spaces in which rest http://www.arieldiaz.com/images/composition1.jpg

From a color theory documentation i remember that you can provide space to rest for the eyes, using not just white, but all those light tints, light pastels colors, for example i remember the case of yellow+light violet which would provide a pleasant combination to watch, correct me if i am wrong, well now I tried to get in contact with the author of above in CgTalk with few success, now i ask you guys ... do you know about this technique and its real usage ... do you use it ? How could i menage to build a good composition, let's say for example that i want to have a detailed background ... i want to have many things that will provide black stains ... is my composition destined to be few readable ?
